Today over a Kelly's Korner she is having a Show Us Your Life - Hair & Beauty Tips. Well I have naturally curly hair. It's big, it's frizzy and it's my prize procession!!! Ha!

How do I get my hair this curly? First I make sure it's watered down with cold water (helps with moisture). Then I brush it out. I flip it upside down and then apply a lot of mousse ( I use the Rave brand). Then I add a nickel amount of L.A. Look Mega hold hair gel. Then still upside down I take a towel and scrunch it a bit and then I spray it with Rave mega hold hairspray. Then I dry it with a blow dryer with a diffuser. It normally takes about 5 minutes to dry and then I finally flip my hair back over. I add more hairspray it needed and that's how you get big, curly, Texas hair!!!


Sometimes I do go straight, but very rarely. It takes forever to straighten my hair, like 2 hrs! I use a chi when I do straighten it! Plus Justin prefers it curly! It was so funny, when I first met Justin I was wearing my hair straight. Then on our first date I showed up with it curly. I wasn't sure if he would like it because it is such a big difference, but he loved it! Lucky me!!!


As for make-up...some products I can't live without are Neutrogena Healthy Defense daily moisturizer. It has a light tint and SPF 30. Bonus! I use this instead of foundation. It's light and good for your skin. Double Bonus!!! I also use that famous mascara in that pink and green tube! Ha! Oh, and a new thing I just fell in love with is Nivea Kiss of Moisture Essential Lip Care. This too protects your lips from the sun and looks like you have gloss on, but it's not greasy! Justin even uses it while at work and there are always coupons for it. You can find it at the stores by the chapsticks and lip care products!

Miley

Last Saturday night we got our new puppy Miley. She's so little and too cute! We got her from Justin's parents. She's a mini chocolate dachshund. We got her name from Hannah Montana. We were all throwing names out and Jaxon suggested Hannah Montana and I thought that was a little much, so I said let's just call her Miley. Everyone liked it, but Ethan! Majority rules!


She wines alot and is already spoiled. She wants to be held or cuddled all the time. I think she's starting to warm up to us because she is becoming more and more playful everyday. Justin's thrilled that she has even learned to crawl into his chair! Ha! I've noticed she has a thing for socks too. She went into our master bedroom and found one of Justin's sock and brought it into the living room. The sock was 4 times her size. This morning she even took Evan's sock off his foot for him!


Jaxon loves her so much. But we have to keep an eye on him because he loves her a little too hard. He gets excited when he picks her up (most of the time he holds her upside down! Ha!).


The only member of the family not to fond of Miley is Boogie our cat!!! Ha!


Well I'm off to do my 8 trillion loads of laundry! Why do little boys change their clothes so much? I thought that was a girl thing! Happy Thursday Y'all!

Shopping w/ Boys = Wine

Yesterday morning/early afternoon the weather was so crappy here. It was muggy and sprinkling. So I decided I would feed the boys lunch and bathe them before we hit up Krogers. Okay I really wanted to bathe them after lunch so I wouldn't have to at night. I couldn't miss a second of all my shows that were on last night! Ha!

Well about 1:00 when I was planning on leaving so I would be back by the time Ethan got home from school, Justin called saying he needed his birth certificate for work. Of course we didn't have one and neither did his mom, so I had to meet her at the place where you get them. Well this threw my scheduled shopping trip off. I decided to go after Ethan got home. Big mistake!
They drove me nuts! Running up & down the aisles. Grabbing all the coupons from the blinkie things and Jaxon actually jumped on another lady's basket. He was sooooo embarrassed! I guess he knew how I felt. Luckily we got out of there and I got everything on my list. I was shocked! As soon as we got home and the groceries were unpacked and put away I poured myself a glass of wine. I sooooo needed it!

I sat down on the couch and noticed what Ethan & Jaxon did to their little brother, but he didn't seem to mind...


That evening we watched American Idol and then Lost ( I'm now lost from watching it.). I recorded Biggest Loser so me & Jaxon are about to watch it. I think he has a crush on Jillian. He loves watching the Shred video. Ha! btw - I just have to let y'all know yesterday I bought the Starbucks house blend coffee ( it was part of the Krogers Mega Event & I had a coupon!) and it rocks!!! I'm not a real coffee drinker and have never bought coffee or been to a Starbucks, but WOW I'm impressed!

Car Problems

Yesterday I took my Explorer to go get the tags for it. My dad and step mom gave me the 96' Explorer for free back in August when Justin had to stop bringing his work truck home and start taking our only car to work. Yesterday I finally had all the paper work to get the title in my name and get the current registration sticker. After I got those I headed off to Jiffy Lube to get the inspection sticker and an oil change. All went fine then I went to pay. The guy notified me that the car failed because some code came up. He said I should have already known that because the engine light was on. I told him the engine light was not on when I brought it to them. He said well it is now. Great! He told me to take it to a mechanic to reset the code and that I had 15 days to bring it back for a free inspection. Then I looked to see that they charged me $40 for the inspection sticker that I didn't get, but according to them that's how it works. UGH! $40 for them to break my car and now I have to pay more to have it recoded (?) or whatever needs to be done.

That just ruined my day! So basically we just lounged around the house the rest of the day not doing much of anything. Who wants to clean when they're in a crappy mood? So, Evan and Jaxon found new ways to entertain themselves...


Well I'm off to plan my shopping trip to Krogers for their Mega Event sale and I'm so excited about Lost coming on tonight! Yay!!! Today is also my brother in-law and my moms birthday. Happy Birthday y'all!

Weekend Wrap-up

Saturday morning we woke up, ate breakfast and headed to Ethan's first basketball scrimmage. He did really good especially on defence. He needs to be more aggressive, but I think he isn't because there are girls on his team.

Ethan is the white, skinny kid w/ his hands up. I don't know what was up w/ my camera!

Then we dropped the boys off at Justin's parents and we headed to see Dave Ramsey Live. I was so excited! Justin not so much. He found out the show was 5 hrs. long! I even caught him almost asleep into the first hour. I learned sooooo much and I love his message about money, marriage, raising children and faith. I hope Justin got something out of it, but I really don't think so.

This is supposed to be Dave Ramsey. He's the little blue blurry thing in the center! Again I don't know what it up w/ my camera!

When we picked the boys up that evening we also picked up our new little puppy, Miley! She is a chocolate mini dachshund. She cried the first night, but now she's doing pretty good. She loves to be held and cuddled.


Sunday, we just hung out around the house. Later that afternoon Evan and I went shopping. I had to get Ethan some basketball shorts. These boys grow like a bunch of weeds!

One last thing...Dave Ramsey said something that stuck with me. He said, "Kids spell love T-I-M-E!" What a great message! Hope y'all had a great weekend!

Makes Me Laugh

When ever I feel upset, sad or just out of it, I can always count on my boys to make me laugh & smile. Whether it's Jonathan doing completely awesome at one of his games or Ethan and his crazy inventions that he's always coming up with. (btw - I think I'm out of scotch tape now due to his last one!) Or Jaxon and just what comes out of that child's mouth, like this morning he walked into the living room and said, " It smells in here. Who farted?" He turned around and went back to his room. Then he came right back into the living room and said," It must be me because the smell is following me every!" Ha! Stinky boys crack me up.


And how do you not smile at this kid?!


Well I hope y'all find things that make y'all smile & laugh! Justin & I are going to see Dave Ramsey tomorrow and I'm so excited! I'll let y'all know how it was! Have a great weekend!
