Show Us Your Life - Collections

Today over at Kelly's Korner she is having a Show Us Your Life - Collections. I don't really collect things for myself, but I do have a small collection of crosses. My boys and Justin always pick me out one every year whether it's one to hang on the wall or in the form of jewelery. These are my crosses...

(These are in my hallway by the dining room.)

I love my collection. They're all unique and different. Oooooooh, you know what I would really love to collect...vintage jewelery. Won't that be fun!!! So what do y'all collect?

Dizzy, Dizzy, Dizzy

I'm so dizzy. I'm so nauseous . I'm so tired. I feel like a hamster on a wheel and it's never stopping. What I'm talking about is money. Our money always seems to run out before the month ends. Justin got paid today and I sat here this morning trying to weed through the bills and figure out which ones we could get by without paying. I hate this feeling.

I've recently became interested in Dave Ramsey, but the hardest thing is getting started. I feel like I'm/we are so far behind it's going to be hard to get caught back up. Quicksand! I've been praying and praying hard. I'm trying to get things in order. I'm trying hard! I need to do this for me. For my boys. I want to stop this exhausting cycle.

I BELIEVE I can do this! I KNOW I can get us out of this! I WILL make things better for us! For my boys! Thanks y'all for letting me vent and helping me get through these tough time!

Wordless Wednesday

I've been moving things around and getting things ready for a garage sale I hope to have in a couple of weeks. Well I stacked some paper storage containers in a corner in my room that I need to go through and we were having such a pretty day the weekend before last that I had the windows open. Justin walked into the room to find this (pay no attention to the mess)...

Evan was sitting on top of the containers in the cool breeze and was singing to himself. When we caught him he just started cracking up laughing, like he was so proud of what he had done!!!

Birthday x 2

Well Saturday was Ethan's birthday. He turned 9! We went to his basketball game that morning and then just hung out around the house all day. It was so nice because even Jonathan was able to be here this weekend. We gave him his gift which was a really cool MP3 player with a built in radio and it plays videos too. He loved it! He thought he was sooooo cool and grown up. For dinner he wanted to have tacos and I made him a chocolate cake too. Evan helped me make the cake too! Ha!
Sunday was just a lazy day. The boys spent all day playing outside. Justin of course played video games and I organized a bunch of junk that I'm getting ready for a garage sale.

Monday morning was Jaxon's birthday. He turned 5! It was so cute when he woke up he asked if he was going to school. I told him no and why he thought that. He said y'all told me when I turned 5 I would get to go to school. I had to explain to him that he would go to school next year after the summer. We gave him his gift which were 2 leapster games and a tag book. He's been playing the Spongebob game since yesterday morning only taking breaks to eat & sleep! Ha! He decided to have grilled cheese sandwiches and chocolate cupcakes for his birthday dinner. Notice the leapster on the table. I told you he didn't put it down all day!

We had a great weekend filled with birthday celebrations! Hope y'all had a great weekend too!

ps - Thank you all for the prayers. Hopefully the problem will be resolved in a couple of weeks and then I might be brave enough to blog about it. I have put it all in God's hands. Prayer is an amazing thing. Thanks again for keeping me & my family in your thoughts & prayers.

Prayers Please

I know I have made some wonderful bloggy friends and I was just wondering if y'all would mind saying a small prayer for me and my family. I really don't want to go into detail about what's going on because of it being a private matter. I have put myself between a rock and a hard place and with God's help I know I can get myself out. Any prayers and positive thoughts are much appreciated. I know the power of prayer is a powerful thing. Thank all of y'all from the bottom of my heart!

Show Us Your Life

Today over at Kelly's Korner she is having Show Us Your Life and it's about your ministry!

I guess my ministry, passion, or love would have to be all my boys (Justin included)! I'm a stay at home mom with 4 boys. I'm lucky to have Justin who works hard so that I can stay at home and take care of our boys and house. Love him for that!

Jonathan is my oldest and I had him when I was sixteen. People ask me sometimes if I think he was a mistake. Never, no child of God is a mistake. I just should have waited for God to give me this gift when I was older. On top of having a child I got married. Needless to say we were divorced two years later. Jonathan lives with his father now because of the difference and fights me and him have. I think deep down he blames me for not being with his father. One day when he's older he will understand that we were just kids when we got married and that was all that happened.

I've been with Justin now for ten years today ( read here). We have 3 beautiful boys together Ethan, Jaxon, and Evan. I almost didn't make when I had Evan. I had to have an emergency c-section and I started to bleed internally (I'll save this story for another day soon).

I love my life even if it's not perfect. I share on this blog about my ups and downs and all the things I go through with raising boys! I love all my new bloggy friends and it's easier to get through the hard days with their sweet comments! So I hope y'all come back and join me on my crazy journey with all these boys!!

10 Years!

Ten years ago I met the love of my life...Justin! We were introduced by a mutual friend at my other friend's birthday party. I do believe it was love at first sight. We've been together ever since. He's such a good man and father! My favorite thing is that he makes me laugh every day!

No we're not married yet! Shocker! He proposed to me 9 1/2 years ago, but things happened that were more important. Like having three kids, buying a house, and just life. I want to have a real wedding and he just didn't want to spend the money, but I have finally talked him into it (only took me ten years)! I'm starting the Dave Ramsey baby steps plan. So I'm going to plan a wedding into that to! I can do it! I will be married to this man, but until then I will go on enjoying our Kurt & Goldie relationship! Ha!

Happy Ten Years baby, Love you! Hope y'all have a happy Friday!

Thank You Shaun White!

Last night Shaun White won Gold in the halfpipe!!! If you don't know who Shaun White is, he is an amazing snowboarder and skateboarder! He is also know as the Flying Tomato for his red hair. This guy is such a great role model for kids. He's a good guy and great athlete!

Ethan loves watching him. This morning he woke up and was talking nonstop about him winning the gold and the crazy tricks he did. He even wanted to wear one of his Shaun White t-shirts (they sell his clothing line for boys at Target) to school.

So thank you Shaun White for giving my son the dream to fly as high as the Flying Tomato!!!

WW: Fat Tuesday Parade!!!

Last night me, Justin, Lacey (my sister), Abby (my niece), Tyler (my nephew), Ethan, Jaxon and Evan went to the 25th Annual Krewe of Aquarius parade in Galveston. We go every year for the Fat Tuesday parade, but we didn't get to last year because Evan was too sick from RSV. So this was Evan's first parade! He loved the music!!!

Monday Flop

Yesterday we headed out to go get my car fixed so I could get the inspection sticker. I headed to Autozone to see if they could help me figure out what was wrong. Luckily I was help by this really kind mechanic and come to find out nothing was wrong with my car. Jiffy Lube had unplugged something and didn't plug it back in, so it was causing my check engine light to come on. I finally was able to get my sticker. Yay I'm driving legal!!!

That evening I decided I was going to make The Pioneer Woman's Cajun Meatloaf. You can see what it's supposed to look like here. Mine turned out mushy in the middle. I guess I didn't add enough bread crumbs or something. It was my first attempt to make any kind of meatloaf. I ended up having to make chicken for dinner. This is what mine looked like after I hacked into it!

I made some mashed potatoes and peas to go with the chicken! Evan loved the peas so much!

We were all cracking up because we thought it looked like a booger in his nose. I needed a good laugh after my "first time cooking meatloaf failure"!

I also received two awards yesterday!!! Made my Monday better thanks ladies!

"This award means you're really going places, Baby. You'll still be blogging about your great adventures 10 years from now, and I'll still be reading them. "
I received this one from Short Southern Momma! Go check her out. Her blog is so cute!

I received this one from Backwoods Boy and a Fairytale Princess! I just started following her blog and I like what I see! Go check her out too!!!

I have to go and get ready because my sister is coming over today with my niece and nephew! We're going to the Mardi Gras parade in Galveston tonight! The kiddos are so excited! Happy Fat Tuesday y'all!!!

Weekend Wrap - Up

Saturday morning we went out to eat breakfast before Ethan's basketball game at Kelly's! It was so good! Their biscuits are as big as my head, no joking!!! I'll have to take a picture of their over sized food next time we go. I was able to go run some errands that afternoon while Justin hung out with the boys at home ( Evan was taking a nap the whole time I was gone of course). Then later that evening we took the boys to Justin's parents so we could go out. Oh before we left Justin surprised me with my Valentines Day gift. He bought me some great perfume, a cute card and some Mardi Gras jewelery to wear tomorrow.

We had such a great night! We went to go eat at a Mexican restaurant called Cabo's. The food was okay, but the margaritas were wonderful!!! After that we met up with some friends at a bar/pool hall called Reno's. Some of our friend's bands were playing. I even ran into my old best friend Jessica whom I haven't seen in like forever! It was such a great night with good friends & music!!!

Sunday we got to sleep in! Well kind of...I woke up scared that I had forgotten to take my birth control pill. So I jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom to check. Luckily I took it! Hey you would be scared too if you were as fertile as me!!! That's how we had Jaxon, I was off of my birth control for one day and BAM I'm pregnant. The other three I was on birth control and got pregnant. So see the reason for panic!!!

Well after the shock wore off and I got dressed I went and picked up the boys. We gave them their Valentine candy from us and we just lounged around the house all day napping & watching movies. Hope y'all had a great weekend too & a happy Monday!!!

Me & my boys!

What's been going on lately? Well I'll start with Jonathan...Wednesday was his last basketball game. They lost, but he has improved greatly. This was his first year to play basketball and to everyone amazement he's good. Actually I really wasn't surprised. The child is a natural athlete and it doesn't matter what sport he plays. This weekend he was supposed to come over to our house (yes, he lives with his father. one day if possible I'll post that story. it breaks my heart), but he has a baseball tournament. I'm so excited for him to start up baseball again. I love watching him play!

Ethan has just started to play basketball too this year for the first time. He's doing pretty well too! He's been suffering from a cold this week, so we have a lot of homework for him to finish this weekend. And on top of that the child has to clean his room!!! He has ADD so his room suffers! To me it looks like a total mess, but to him it's all in order. I have to remind myself of this when I want to yell at him for not cleaning it.

Jaxon has been asking non-stop about death. It's starting to get on my nerves. He wants to know about God, Heaven, old people, babies, our souls and how do people die! How do you explain all this to a 4 year old? As soon as I think I answered his questions he comes to me with more. I wish he would find another subject and move on! One funny thing though...he told me this morning that when we get to heaven we will have a concert with Michael Jackson, but he won't do the Thriller video because that is scary and scary things aren't allowed in Heaven! Ha!

Evan's been doing great. He's getting to be a bit bossy though, which is funny because he can't even talk yet! Ha! He tries to show off in front of his brothers which normally ends up in him getting hurt or in trouble. Right now it looks like he's been in a fight. He has bruise all over him from falling and jumping off of things. To me it's not a big deal, I've become used to these things because I think it's a boy thing to be a daredevil!!! I'm just happy it's cold outside so he has to wear pants and long sleeves so no one can see the bruises and think we abuse him!

Well that's what my boys have been up to! Hope y'all have a warm and fun weekend!!!

Jaxon-ism!

These are a couple of Jaxon sayings that I pulled from my facebook page. That kid cracks me up!

"sniff, sniff" Jaxon, "Hey you know what that sound is?" Me,"Yeah it's your nose. You have a cold." Jaxon,"NO. It's my boogers. They've melted." Hahahahaha! Gross!

Jaxon walked into the living room w/ some paper w/ letters he scibbled on it. He asked, " What do this spell?" I said," I don't know. You tell me. You wrote it." Jaxon - " How am I supposed to know. I can't read." Ha!

Jaxon walked into the living room and said,"It stinks in here. Who farted?" Then he went back to his room. He walked right back into the living room & said, " I guess it was me because the smell follows me everywhere I go." Ha! Stinky little boys!

Jaxon heard on the news, "Help for Haiti." He wanted to know why there was a place named like me and why they needed help. I need to get the child's ear checked!

Earlier this morning...Jaxon,"I know it's your b-day, but I'm not telling u what I got u." Me,"Well it's my b-day now, so u can tell me what u got me." Jaxon,"No I can't tell u b/c I didn't get u anything." I guess u could say he gave me a good laugh!!!

"Guess who I'm thinking of. She's on TV and speaks spanish." Me - "Dora." Jaxon - " No. Kilan." Me - "Kilan doesn't speak spanish. She speaks chinese." Jaxon - "It's the same thing. They both sound funny."

Today's Jaxon-ism, "Oh my! It's snowing ice!" I had to explain to the poor child it was hailing and no he could not go outside to play in it!

This morning when we went outside to take Ethan to school Jaxon saw the fog and said, " Look! The colors are faded!" I've never thought of it that way!

Jaxon just asked me , " Why do we have a diamond room?" He was trying to say dining room, but I like the way he thinks!!!

Wordless Wednesday!

About two months ago I ordered Ethan this free Lego magazine. I found out about it at Hip2Save. This is an awesome website for good deals and ways to save money! Well anyways we got the magazine in the mail and it was in 3D. Ethan let Evan check it out also!

"What's that bright thing in the sky?"

Yep you guessed it, it was the sun!!! We haven't seen it in such a long time. Yesterday was a gorgeous day. So since Ethan was playing hooky from school I sent the boys to the back yard to play! They were in need of some good old fashion vitamin D. They decided to make parachutes for their army guys and throw them off the swing set.

Evan was even running in and out with just his diaper on! That's how warm it was!!!

They played for a good 2 hours or so, but that was it! Why, you ask. Well all of a sudden Ethan was calling me to go outside to see something. As soon as I walked out side I saw Evan climbing up the slide to the swing set. Great that's like a 6-7 foot fall!!! Okay that was enough playing outside for the day.

Well at least they got a chance to play outside for a while. Now it's in the 40's here and the high for the rest of the week is supposed to be in the 50's. What is going on with this weather! Hey I'm happy though it's not the crazy blizzard & snow everyone else is getting. Hope y'all have a warm & cozy Tuesday!!!

Super Bowl Sunday!

Yesterday we went over to Justin's older brother, Eric's new house. They live about an hour away. (I wish they lived closer so we could hang out more often.) So we packed the boys and all their toys and snacks in the car and head over there to watch the Super Bowl! We had such a great time (Even though the Colts lost!) and the boys had a blast playing. They had the entire upstairs to themselves!!! Every once in a while we could hear them getting a little rowdy, and now I know for sure we made the right choice when we bought a one story! Ha!

We played squares and Tony (Justin's younger brother) won the 2nd and 3rd quarter and their Aunt Nina won the first! Yay!

There was tons of yummy food and great adult beverages!!! Evan helped out by cleaning up their floor for them!

It was also Eric's birthday back on the 2nd so we also had cake too!

The funniest thing were these crackers that Sarah (Eric's wife) got with the deli tray. They were digestive crackers! Ha!

We had such a great time, but we did get home a little late. So needless to say Ethan played hooky from school today. Shhhhhh don't tell!!!

100 Days & Window Watching

Yesterday was Ethan's 100th day of school. The kids were told to decorate a shirt with 100 things of their choice. Ethan decorated his with frog and bug stickers! He loved his shirt! By the time he got home from school there were no more stickers on his shirt though!!! Ha!

When Justin got home from work last night he went outside to practice basketball with Ethan. Jaxon went outside too to play on his powerwheel jeep! I was cooking dinner so poor Evan was stuck inside with me. He kept sticking his head against the window to watch them outside. He would get excited every time he would see one of them run by. He would scream and start laughing. It was so cute!!!

We had basketball this morning and now we're off to a birthday party! Happy Saturday Y'all!!!
