Makes Me Laugh

When ever I feel upset, sad or just out of it, I can always count on my boys to make me laugh & smile. Whether it's Jonathan doing completely awesome at one of his games or Ethan and his crazy inventions that he's always coming up with. (btw - I think I'm out of scotch tape now due to his last one!) Or Jaxon and just what comes out of that child's mouth, like this morning he walked into the living room and said, " It smells in here. Who farted?" He turned around and went back to his room. Then he came right back into the living room and said," It must be me because the smell is following me every!" Ha! Stinky boys crack me up.

And how do you not smile at this kid?!

Well I hope y'all find things that make y'all smile & laugh! Justin & I are going to see Dave Ramsey tomorrow and I'm so excited! I'll let y'all know how it was! Have a great weekend!

Blah, Blah, Blah

That's how I feel. I have the blahs! I don't want to do anything. We went to Wal-mart this morning to get eggs, milk and juice. I also had to pick up some cat food and dog food for our new puppy we're getting her tonight or tomorrow. Also I went to get some basketball shorts for Ethan and they had none! I couldn't believe it! I guess I'll hit up Target some time this weekend.

You might be wondering why I need to buy Ethan basketball shorts...well Justin signed him up for the local league last night and his first practice is tonight. I hope he does well and that he hasn't inherited his mother's clumsiness!

I just put Evan down for his nap and I think I might take one myself. Maybe I can sleep off the blahs; so I can get this dirty, unorganized house done!

Wordless Wednesday

I absolutely love these PJ's. My Aunt Darla got these for Evan for his birthday. The best part was that they say MOM's prince. Everything I find says something about DAD on it, so it's finally nice to have something with MOM on it. Since deep down they are all really momma boys! Ha!

Go Rockets!

Last night I guess you could say Justin and I had a date night. We took and dropped the boys off at Justin's parents house. I felt bad because we had to tell them that Ethan could not play outside because he had to stay home from school yesterday with that lovely cold we all had.
First we went and ate at Papasitos. Yes another Mexican restaurant. I told y'all I could eat Mexican food every night! Ha! Luckily we didn't have to pay for the meal. We used gift certificates that we got for Christmas.

Then we were off to the Rockets game. I got Justin tickets for Christmas. The seats were so amazing. It was so neat to see the players up close. They were giants. We even went to the bar area and Yao Ming walked past us. He had to duck so he wouldn't hit his head on the ceiling. It was crazy. Justin caught a t-shirt that they threw out into the stands too! We were even on TV (well I think we were. they boys said they saw us)! The only bad thing was that the Rockets lost.

We had a great date night! Now we're just enjoying Justin's last day off before he has to go back to work tomorrow. Booooooo!

Birthday Parties & Colds

Saturday afternoon we went to our friend Suzanne's little boy Tristen's 6th birthday party. The boys had fun. They had a moonwalk, popcorn machine and played a balloon/dart game.

The funniest things was Evan trying to tear the bows of the presents! For some unknown reason the kid hates bows. He screams until he removes all the bows. He was a blast during Christmas time.

After the party we dropped the boys off at Justin's parents house. We then grabbed a bite to eat (of course it was Mexican food). Then we went to our friend Stephanie's house for a small get together for her birthday. Her birthday is the 14th which is the day after mine, but lucky girl turned 29! We had fun laughing & playing pictionary! I got her a beautiful bouquet of red garden roses and a barbie balloon! The barbie on the balloon reminded me of Stephanie with her long blond hair!

Sunday I woke up fine. Then I went to take a shower to get ready to go pick up the kiddos. As soon as I got out of the shower I started to feel like crap-ola! I think I caught Jaxon & Jonathan's cold. Basically I stayed in bed all day after I picked them up. Evan was a good boy and took an extra long nap for his momma! This morning poor Ethan woke up with it, so he stayed home from school. I think the problem is the weather. It gets cold then warm and then rainy and cold again. No wonder we can't kick this! I'm trying to rest as much as possible because tonight Justin and I are going to the Rocket's basketball game. I had gotten him tickets for Christmas and they're fifth row. Wooohoooo! I'll be sure to take a ton of pictures. Well I'm off to drink some more OJ! Hope y'all had a great weekend.

Yesterday & New Things!

Yesterday was great...Justin was off of work, so we decided to take Jaxon and Evan to go eat at the Mexican restaurant in town. Yum I can't get enough Mexican food. I would eat it everyday if I could. Then we went to Justin's parents house to pick out our new puppy! It's a mini chocolate dachshund and a girl. We get her in 2 weeks. Evan just kept wanting to give it kisses. So sweet!

Then we came home and while Evan took a nap I went grocery shopping. I enjoy going kid less. It's less confusing when I'm trying to get deals and match coupons and not having to chase a 4 year old down an aisle or catch a baby crawling out of the basket!

Ethan was home from school by the time I got back. We ate dinner which was tacos. (It was Ethan's night to choose a meal) While cooking I notice someone learned how to use a step stool. Great!

While I was cleaning up from dinner Jaxon came running in saying how he found his sunglasses. (Great, but I had no clue they were lost.) Then he was upset when he realized they were broken.

So he gave them to Evan!

We finished the night off with ice cream. It was D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!

Hope y'all had a great Friday too!

Show Us Your Life

Today over a Kelly's Korner she is having a Show Us Where You Shop post. I used to shop at the mall all the time, but ever since I had the boys I barely go there once a year! I do most of my shopping at Target and almost always on clearance. Man I sound like a cheap-o! I also found a great pair of jeans at Sears that I love. They're the Sears brand Canyon Blues. I got them in lightly faded and dark wash. Plus I got them on black Friday for $7.98 a pair!

I love funky jewelry too. I'm always on the look out for that everywhere I go. You never know when you'll find a treasure! Like just last week I was shopping at Michael's (the craft store) with my mom and came across this awesome owl necklace. I've been trying to find one that wasn't expensive and I was able to get this one for only $2!!!

(My owl necklace modeled by my lovely friend Kristen.)

So basically you can say that I like to shop everywhere and anywhere, but I do prefer to shop in-store that way I can see, feel and try on what I'm buying!!!

Eating & Crashing

Lately this has been happening...

As soon as Evan gets done eating or even during eating he is falling asleep. It's getting so bad he's even doing it at restaurants...

I wish I had my Flip camera for this one. It was too funny! He kept trying to fight the sleep off, but he just couldn't take it anymore. I've decided to try to change his nap schedule. So now I put him in his crib around 10-10:30 am to take his first nap. He normally sleeps for around 2 hours. Then I feed him, so that way there will be no more sleepy time during lunch. So far it's been working! Yeah!!!

The Zoo

Monday the boys were off of school for MLK day. My mom, sister and her two kiddos came down for all of us to go to the zoo. First I went to the store to buy some snacks and to pick up some pizza to eat before we left. We got half a mile from the zoo and that's when we hit the traffic. There was construction going on and plus it was free to get into the zoo that day so it was crazy packed. Well needless to say it took us an hour and 45 minutes to get to the zoo entrance.

It was the first time for Evan to go to the zoo. All the kids had a blast. We saw the elephants, monkeys, and bears. The big exhibit was Jonathan the Lion. I kept making my Jonathan take pictures with the Jonathan the lion signs. He loved me for that. What 13 year old boy wouldn't?

Then we saw this statue of a monkey and my boys thought it was hilarious. I think it was a boy thing!

Evan loved the meerkat exhibit. He thought they were little puppies running around. He was cracking up laughing and saying "pup, pup"!

Then we had to keep getting onto the kids because they kept climbing on all the statues and trees.

I guess you could say they were acting like they belonged in the zoo!

Birthday Weekend

Well my birthday was back on the 13th, but my brother in-law and his girlfriend had a party for me at their house this past Saturday! We had a blast! They made me some cupcakes...They looked so yummy, but I forgot to have one.

They got me a little birthday headband with candles on it, but it was a little to small and started to give me a headache so I had to take it off!

They also got a foam finger that everyone took pictures with.

I got some cute cards and a beautiful necklace from our friends Llyod and Adriel. Adriel told me Lloyd picked it out himself. Ha!

The best part was that after everyone sang me happy birthday (luckily the house didn't burn down w/ all those candles) they all attacked me with silly string. I even woke up the next morning with it still in my hair!

Thanks everyone for an awesome 30th birthday!!!

Show Us Your Life

Today on Kelly's Korner:Show Us Your Life, she is talking about diet and exercise. Well right now my exercise routine basically consist of this...

Chasing these two around all day. Then after hours and on weekends you throw in two more. Then there's cleaning and grocery shopping. I think this all counts as exercise and no one better tell me different unless the have 4 boys or more!

All kidding aside. I need to get healthier and lose a whole lot of weight. Last week I asked the nurse at the doctor's office if their scale was broken. Yikes!

My problem seems to be motivation. I need to get my big butt in gear. I have all the equipment. I just need to use it. It is just so hard to find time with all the craziness going on around here. Plus it's hard to do the elliptical with a 13 month old screaming at you! Oh how I wish I was a morning person so I could wake up at 5:30 (wowzzer that's early) to get it done before everyone wakes up. Maybe I just need to try it and follow through. You know what they say, "it takes 21 days of doing something to start a habit." Please help a momma out. If y'all have any advice I'd love to hear it!

Trouble...

This cute little guy here...

is trouble.

Evan is a that age to where he wants to get into and onto everything. His favorite thing to do right now is climb up in his daddy's chair.

He even thinks the computer belongs to him!

A close second is to destroy the kitchen. He goes through all the cabinets and throws everything out. He especially loves the pots and pans. The louder the better.

The new and cool thing to do according to Evan is to put bowls on our heads!!!

Boy I love trouble!!!

The Big 3-0!!!

Yesterday I turned the big 3-0!!! I'm sooooo excited to start this new journey in my life. When my sister called to wish me happy birthday she asked if I felt older. I thought about it for a minute and told her, no, I feel smarter! ha! My day was amazing except for one thing...

It start out with Jaxon telling me happy birthday, but he couldn't tell me what he got me for my birthday. I told him it was okay because it was my birthday. He said no that he couldn't tell me because he didn't get me anything!!! I did end up getting something from Justin...

They were beautiful and smelt lovely!

I made pot roast with mashed potatoes and we all sat at the table together to eat. It was so nice. Then for dessert we had cupcakes that I made. Yum!

Jonathan then called me to wish me happy birthday and to let me know that they had won their basketball game. Oh how I wish that he was here with us. That would have made my day perfect!

Right before bedtime Jaxon gave me my gift from him. He spent a lot of time trying to come up with something all day.

I got earphones and a flashlight. What more could this mother want? But then he had to come to me and explain that he had to take back the earphones because they belonged to Ethan. Oh well I was happy with my flashlight!

Now about the one thing that went wrong... the toilet in the boys bathroom is clogged. The only thing we can figure is that someone under 3 feet flushed something down it, but no one will confess! Well I'm off to battle the stinky toilet!

Long Weekend Wrap-Up

Well we had an awesome New Years! We went to Justin cousin's house to celebrate. We had so much fun and met some new friends also.

But before we had this great evening we received some very upsetting news. We were supposed to go to another party that night at our friends Llyod & Adriel's house, but it was cancelled earlier Thursday morning. No one was told why; only that it was a family emergency. That evening we find out that Adriel's older sister Sara (who we are also friends with) had accidentally been shot and died early that morning. We were very upset and in shock. She was only 27 and a mother of three young children. Our prayers are with this wonderful family for their loss of such a young and beautiful soul.

Friday, Justin was off so we just lounge around the house. My sister and her kiddos stayed with us too. She had stayed the night before to watch the boys for us while we went to the New Years party. I cooked a pork roast, some cabbage & potatoes, and of course some black eyed peas. All the kids (except Evan who eats anything) were not too thrilled with the food, but they did take a bite of everything because we told them they had to or they would have bad luck all year!

(He had a black eyed pea stuck to his forehead. It was so funny!)

Saturday my sister and I went to exchange Ethan's scooter he got for Christmas at Target. Then we did a little shopping at Toys R Us and Wal-mart. Abby (my niece) and Evan went with us and the boys and Tyler (my nephew) stayed at home with Justin. Lacey and I picked up some pizza on the way home for dinner. After we ate Lacey and the kids headed home.

Sunday after we ate breakfast (and before football started) we went to the park in our neighborhood. Ethan & Justin tried to fly this remote control kite that Ethan had gotten for Christmas, but it didn't fly so well. Evan & I sat there and laugh at their attempts to fly the kite, while Jaxon played at the park. Then we went home and watched football. Chachi (Justin's mom) came to pick up the boys to go play at her house, but Ethan didn't want to go so she just took Jaxon & Evan. Then a few hours later she called and asked if I would want to pick up Jaxon. He wanted to come home and that his stomach was hurting. She went ahead and kept the baby because he was taking his nap. So we headed home. We watched some more football and I sat down and organized all my coupons in my binder.

Today I need to get some cleaning done while Chachi still has the baby. So that is what I'm off to do. Hope y'all had a Great Weekend and Happy New Year too!!!
